VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES                         Get Involved
 
There are many services that volunteers can provide and the rewards are also many.  Help is needed in all areas and there is no minimum time requirements that volunteers must give.

You can work with the athletes or help out with fund raising, public relations or at training programs and competitions.  To sign up as a volunteer, go to the
volunteer sign up form.

Athletes and friends!
   

Sports Training
 
bullet Becoming a swimming volunteer for training sessions held at the Greensburg Y.M.C.A.
 
bullet Serve as a certified Special Olympics coach.
 
bullet Use specific sports expertise to help set up a sports clinic or Special Olympics training school.
 
 

Competitions

 
bullet Attend competitions as timers, lane officials, score keepers, and athletes' escorts.
 
bullet Get a group together and manage a particular segment of a competition such as the 
standing long jump at the track and field meet.
 
bullet Help with event set-up.
 
bullet Athlete awards presenters.
 
bullet Organize opening and closing ceremonies help at each event.
 
 

Fund-raising

 
bullet Conduct a fund-raising campaign through a civic group, church or other organization,
such as a craft show or 5k. run/walk.
 
bullet Help with the Special Olympics Gift Sale at events.
 
bullet Serve on the Annual Golf Outing committee.
 
 

Public Awareness
 
bullet Volunteer to work the public relations table at community events or special fund-raising events, such as the Christmas Ornament Sale.
 
bullet Serve as photographer or videographers at events.
 
bullet Work with civic organizations to recruit involvement in events.
 
 
Professional
bullet Serve as a liaison between Special Olympics and the business community recruiting volunteers and fund-raising support.
bullet Make donations of goods, services or vital office supplies.
