Once again the weather was perfect and the golf was competitive yet fun. The highlight of the day was Rick Guter, who had not golfed in over 12 years, sinking a 60 yard chip shot for an eagle. Over 80 golfers participated in the third annual outing and enjoyed the course, the food and, of course, all of the prizes. The 2002 outing was by far the most successful, raising over $5,700 towards the Special Olympics Westmoreland County Athletes' Sports Fund. This fund pays for the sports training and competitions that close to 800 athletes participate in annually. Cost per golfer was $65.00
which included green fees, cart, lunch, buffet dinner and prizes
