The athletes and coaches logged over 1,000 hours of cycling training
in 2002. Because we use the Five Star Trail, we wanted to add to
the value of the trail and did so by planting a tree near the Pittsburgh
Street trail bridge.

The tree, in time, will come to symbolize the physical and mental
strength that the athletes gain from training and competing in sports.

Also gained will be the feeling that by working together, both
athletes and coaches, much can be learned and accomplished.

Coaches too, learn from the Special Olympics experience.
